SCHRANK
Lieutenant Colonel William J. "Bill" Schrank, age 67, passed away March 29, 2014, in San Antonio. A native of Long Island, New York, he enlisted in the Air Force in January 1965. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1973. He earned his Associate's degree in science; a Bachelor's degree in psychology/sociology; a Master's degree in higher education/human relations; and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in adult education/management. Between 1973-2001, he served as Chief of Administration at the Aerospace Defense Command; Headquarters Squadron Section Commander at Electronic Security Command; Executive Officer to the Commander at the Air Force Acquisition Logistics Center; Chief of Professional Development at the USAF Occupational Measurement Center; Commander of the USAF Recruiting Squadron; Chief of Policy of the Directorate of Technical Training at Headquarters Air Education and Training Command; and Executive Officer to the Commander, Chief of Strategic Plans and the Inspector General for the Air Force Recruiting Service. Lt. Col. Schrank's military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal, and the Air Force Achievement Medal. He holds the Master Administration Badge and was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in 1989. Lt. Col. Schrank was also Lecturer of Business in the School of Business at Our Lady of the Lake University from 1996-2002. From 2005-2008, he was Assistant Associate Professor of Business, and of Management, and acting Dean of the School of Business. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Marie Schrank. He is survived by his daughters, Monica Powell, Melissa Schrank, Micah Coleman (Jeff), and Megan Schrank; grandchildren, Morgan Howard, Brandon Coleman, Jaden Powell; former spouse, Barbara Nivens; brothers, John Schrank (Linda), Raymond Schrank (Eileen), and Peter Schrank (Brian); nephew, John Schrank (Anne Marie); and niece, Christie Krupa (Jay).
