Jennie Vee Carolyn Armstrong Doebbler, age 84, died Saturday, March 29, 2014. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 3, 1930. Jennie lived at Hickham Field when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. She worked as a bookkeeper at Esco Supply Company for many years and later worked in the family business at Southwestern Engraving Company until she retired in 1995. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jack Irving Doebbler, Sr. as well as her parents Edna Nicolas Hoag and Julius Lewis Armstrong. She is survived by her son, John Doebbler, Sr. and wife, Karen of San Antonio, Texas; son, Jack Doebbler, Jr. and wife, Cheryl of Leander, Texas; grandchildren, John Doebbler, Jr. and Dianna Doebbler of San Antonio; Jennifer Strauss and husband, Emanuel of San Mateo, California and Jacklyn Meers and husband, Kyle of Austin, Texas and great-grandchild, Laureline Strauss of San Mateo, California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
