Ruth Shoaf Obituary
SHOAF
Ruth Marting Shoaf was gathered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 17, 2014. Born in St. Louis, Missouri on Feb 26, 1926, Ruth attended Bethany Lutheran School and graduated from Beaumont High School in St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her parents, George H. and Estella Marting; by her husband, Carroll William Shoaf; and by her son, John Martin Shoaf. Survivors include sons, Tom and spouse, Diane, Robert and spouse, Martha; daughter, Nancy Shoaf; grandchildren, Tom, Jr., and spouse, Emily, Katherine and spouse, Joseph, Jamie, Ben, Sam, and Julia; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hannah, and Charlie; sister, Virginia Rueter; sister-in-law, Mary Anne Thompson and spouse, Tommy; and many nephews and nieces. She retired from USAA where she was a senior insurance underwriter and traveled to many parts of the world with Carroll. As an active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church since 1949, she served in many capacities. Gifted with a strong foundation in her faith in the Lord, she endeared herself to many friends.
