Mine (Mineko) Hoffman Obituary
Mine (Mineko) Sato Hoffman, 78, passed into our Lord's hands on April 12, 2014. She was born on January 23, 1936 in Yashimamachi, Japan. Mineko lived as a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister and friend devoting herself to raising her children instilling values, the importance of family and faith. Mineko served members of the US military for 25 years as an employee of AAFES before retiring. She earned accolades for keen attention to detail coupled with a stelar work ethic. Mineko took to the dance stage with the Japan American Society sharing the beauty of her cultural roots through the richness of Traditional Japanese dance. Mineko was preceded by her son, Thomas Hoffman, daughter-in-law, Ruby Hoffman, husband, William "Bill" Hoffman, sister, Hatsu Sato, and brother, Yoski Sato. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Prater, son-in-law, Terry Prater, daughter, Terry Ann Albert, son-in-law Todd Albert, grandson, Joshua M. Novak, grand daughter, Alexandra Renee Hoffman, nephew, Etsuro Sato and extended overseas Japanese family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 5 PM - 9 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Graveside services will be at 9:45 AM on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
