BRIEGER
Irvin Arthur Brieger passed away on Friday, May 30 in San Antonio with his family by his side. He was born on December 22, 1926 to Wesley Edward and Lydia Betz Brieger in San Antonio. Irvin married Amy Elizabeth Bueche of New Braunfels on June 4, 1949 in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Irvin graduated from Harlandale High School in 1943 with his favorite remembrance being of playing in the marching band. He worked in the U.S. Civil Service at Kelly Air Force Base starting at the age of 16. After taking military leave, he was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1945 and served in the headquarters of General MacArthur in Japan. After separation from the Army with the rank of Technical Sergeant, Irvin attended Draughon's Business College, where he met his future wife, Amy. Upon graduation in 1948, he returned to his position at Kelly where he was employed until his retirement in 1976 as a Maintenance Financial and Analysis Officer. He then helped Amy open a flower shop, Amie's Flowers and Gifts, where he served as business manager until his second retirement in 1996. He and his wife, Amy were founding members of St. Luke Catholic Church in 1959. Irvin was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Irvin is survived by his five children; daughter, Sandra Brieger Musk; sons, John Brieger and wife Mary Lou (Davies), Douglas Brieger and wife Sylvia (Mistician), James Brieger and wife Nancy (Grant), and Richard Brieger and wife Lisa (White); and fifteen grandchildren; Aaron Brieger, Katharine Brieger Leysath and husband Clinton, Cristian Musk and wife Rebecca (Glaser), Stephanie Brieger Howard and husband Lee, Alison Musk, Aubrey Brieger, Chad Brieger, Delani Brieger, Trevor Brieger, Tanner Brieger, Emma Brieger, Dalton Brieger, Grant Brieger, Kyle Brieger, and Mara Brieger.

SERVICES
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 6 pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, followed by a Rosary at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 am Thursday, June 5, 2014 at St. Luke Catholic Church, followed by an 11:15 am burial service with Military Honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
