Jacinta Salinas Obituary
Jacinta Romo Salinas, 93 beloved sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away in her home in the early morning of June 2, 2014. Jacinta was preceded in death by her first husband, Pablo R. Garza, her second husband, Jesse A. Salinas, and grandson, Jesse R. Salinas II. Jacinta is survived by her sister Adela Contreras; sons Luis P. Garza, Jesse R. Salinas, and Richard A. Salinas; grandchildren Christian Garza, Veronica Salinas and Kathryn Salinas; and great-grandchildren, Yasmin Garza, Julianna Garza, and Mia Angelica Garza.
She was born on September 5, 1921 in the midst of the great flood in San Antonio, TX to Elijio and Victoria Romo. The youngest of five, she was the baby of the family.
A keen interest in education always kept Jacinta sharp and led to a position as longtime substitute teacher for Franklin Elementary in the SAISD. She had a great love for dancing, listening to music, traveling and cooking (she loved her own Mexican food). Her sense of humor lingered to the end, "Auf weidersen, s'il vous plait!" Jacinta was greatly loved by her family and will be missed.
A service will be held 7pm Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Ortiz Funeral Home with interment at 1:30pm Monday, June 9, 2014 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
