William Arthur Brooksbank, IV, was born May 19, 1992, in Oklahoma City and passed away June 13, 2014, in Shavano Park, Texas, at the age of 22. Will attended Hausman Elementary, Hobby Middle School, and Clark High School. He also briefly attended Abilene Christian College and Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, but was unable to continue for health reasons. He took both these universities by storm, making loads of friends and was selected to be the emcee at the Freshman class talent show at ACU. Although he was ill almost half his life, he was someone who brightened most every room he walked into with a huge smile and a sly sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William A. Brooksbank, Jr. and Frances Brooksbank, William G. Dippo; aunts, Carol Dippo, Laura White; uncle, Norbert Siep; cousins, Michelle Dippo, Elisa White, Shelly White and Eric White. William is survived by his parents, William "Kenn" and Mary Brooksbank; brother, Michael Brooksbank; sister, Maggie Brooksbank; grandmother, Mary Dippo; aunts and uncles, Bill Dippo, Michael and Rhonda Dippo, Ann Siep, Barbara and Frank Isom, Mitch White, Cherry and Mick Neeley, Kim and Lynn Baker, Marla and Ed Rowan, and Genia Brooksbank. Well loved by all he met, Will fought an eating disorder for more than a decade. His greatest desire was to help others who suffered from this grave illness. Throughout this fight, Will kept a strong, vibrant faith in God. He went through numerous treatment programs, helping others to get past their illness; while he helped heal others, he was unable to heal himself. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at University United Methodist Church.
