Zelma Carpenter Obituary
Zelma Marie Jackson Carpenter, 68, of San Antonio went home to be with her Lord on Thursday July 3, 2014. Zelma was born in Gadsden, AL, on May 30, 1946, to Mary-Louise and Vernon Jackson. She married Norman Carpenter in Warner Robins, GA, in 1976. Zelma was a member of First Baptist Church in San Antonio, and faithfully attended the broadcasted services every Sunday. She was a wonderful mother, loving wife, and a best friend to many. Zelma is survived by her husband Norman, and her children; Denise Ferris, Kristy Gray and husband Travis, Richard Carpenter, Lauren Carpenter and spouse Sabrina Jennings, and Wanda Bradford. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Alexandra, Austin, Taylor, and Teresa.

Prayers to my family and me, who on this day have lost one of the strongest, bravest, most generous women I have ever known, never ceasing to display an everlasting love for her family and those around her; my best friend, my mother...
You showed me a love so pure and true, so completely unconditional, unlike that of any other. You never gave up on me, and gave everything you had to show your love. You gave me the world. Words will never express how deeply saddened I am or how much I will miss you. Yet I take comfort knowing that you are in God's hands, knowing that you will never again struggle from the physical or emotional pains and limitations of this world, but are now in a place of love and peace and joy. I love you with all of my heart and you will remain in my heart and memories every day, forever and ever. Amen.

-Lauren S.R. Carpenter
