George Thomas Gibson III beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the age of 76. The only son born to George II and Alicia Gibson. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Gloria Clowers. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Connie Gibson; children, Debbie Vela husband Rey, George Gibson IV wife Denise, Joseph Gibson wife Norma, Stephanie Litterio husband Albert, Michael Castillo wife Tracy; ten grandchildren, Katherine and fiancé Reuben, Brittany, Jessica, Joey, George V (Buddy), Annika, Marina, Anneliese, Ella and Anna; sisters, Olivia Garcia, Christina Kosub; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his special pet Sunflower Gibson. George was a generous man and grateful transplant recipient of a Beautiful Heart. His life was a reflection of the "Gift of Life" he received. He served in the US Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was employed at Columbia 300 for 38 years prior to his Medical Retirement.


A Visitation at Oak Hills Mortuary 8332 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 78229 will begin at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:30 am Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at St Gregory the Great Catholic Church 700 Dewhurst Rd, San Antonio, TX 78213 with Father Maurico Lopez, Celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the staff of the Audie L Murphy VA Hospital and the Community Living Center for all the excellent care provided.
