SANCHEZ
Adolph Zamdio Sanchez, 92, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Providence Memorial Hospital in El Paso, Texas. Born in San Antonio, Texas to Francisco and Ventura Sanchez, he lived most of his life in Corpus Christi, San Antonio and El Paso Texas.
Adolph, as a member of our Greatest Generation was very proud of his military service as a World War II veteran and being a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus as a 4th Degree Knight . He started his service to his country in the Civilian Conservation Corp (CC Camp). He honorably served and retired as a member of the Army, Army Air Corp and finally the Air Force. He continued service to his country at Kelly Air Force base as a Civil Servant where he also retired. He loved this great country and taught us all about respect and honor of our country, our flag and our "President" as well as the importance of Family.
Adolph's greatest love was his God, his loving, beautiful wife of 66 years, Angelita and his Children and Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sons, Adolph Augustine and John Lawrence Sanchez. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Angelita (Garcia) Sanchez; his daughters Mary Magdalena and Linda Ann Sanchez; his sons Robert Anthony and Joseph Leonard Sanchez; his grandchildren Linda Marie, Jennifer Marie, Diana Denise, Ginger Parker, Bonnie Laurie and Joseph Leonard Sanchez II; as well as his many loving nieces, nephews and great friends.
The family will receive friends for a visitation and viewing on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 4222 SW Loop 410,San Antonio, TX 78227.
