After attending Goucher College in Towson, Maryland she ultimately graduated with a B.A. degree from the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York in 1945. She was awarded a fellowship from the American Red Cross to Fordham University and graduated with a M.S. degree in social work in 1949. During her time at Fordham, she served in the Red Cross as a hospital social worker at Ft. Faith worked as a social worker, ending up as the director of social service for the North Adams Regional Hospital in Massachusetts. During her tenure as a social worker, Faith was a member of the National Association of Social Workers and was active at a state, regional, and city level as a representative for the elderly. Faith was a faithful military wife and was involved throughout Louis' service with the wives' clubs at their various postings. Faith's extracurricular activities continued with her husband's retirement first in North Adams, Massachusetts, then to their final home in San Antonio. Faith always had an interest in the arts, whether it be in music, the stage, literature, or the visual arts, the last manifesting itself in her becoming an amateur painter working in oils, water colors, and pastels. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Margaret; her husband, Col. Louis A. Gazzaniga; and her daughter, Jane Teresa Gazzaniga, who passed away earlier in 2014.
