Not sure what to say?

Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we have made a small donation to Wreaths Across America to honor and remember Byron J. Fouty US Army Specialist. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals across the American youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

My family & I have been deeply saddened by the loss of your son Byron. I have proudly worn his MIA bracelet since shortly after he was listed as missing. Although many miles separate us know that another Mother who never knew your brave son has had Byron in her prayers each and everyday. I have forwarded the bracelet to you in hopes that it would comfort you in a small way to know that my family and I share in your loss. He will always be a hero to me and forever be in my heart.

To the family and parents of Byron I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you.

Our deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to you at this diffcult time. Unfortunaltely we know of this pain and suffering that your family is going through at this time. We are the proud parents of SPC Bradley N Shilling KIA 11-18-2006 in Baghdad Iraq He served with the 125th Batl. E CO. Mechanized out of Big Rapids MI.
We have followed this from the begining when we recieved a call from a family member alerting us of his MIA. It hit home a bit too much since we know not of Byron but of his relative Norm Fergeson and his wife Andrea. Andrea is the sister of my brother in law. The thought of another family member having to go through this again was agonizing. We prayed for a safe return and now we know Byron and his fellow soliders will be greeted by Brad and all the other Fallen Hero's with open arms. We would like to thank Byron for his service to this great country and the sacrifice that he made. If there is anything we can do to help you through please feel free to contact us at [email protected]
God Bless,

I wish to join the family and friends of Pfc. Byron J. Fouty in grieving for him and in honoring him at the same time. I did not have the great privilege of knowing him, but I am proud of him and how he gave his life for the freedom of all of us. He made his mark on this world and we will never forget him. I send my very deepest sympathies and the sincerest of prayers to his family. I cannot begin to know what you have been through or how you feel now, but I do know that I feel deeply that our soldiers are truly the sons and daughters of all Americans. I have entered comments in many of our fallen sons and daughters Guest Books, and have shed tears as I wrote each one. I will be praying for all of you from now on. If you need someone to talk to or ask to pray for you, please email me at any time in the future.

Byron, I hope to get to know you one day when my time is over and I join you in that "better place" where you are now. Thank you for your sacrifice. We will never forget it and your work on earth lives on to the continual benefit of those of us you left behind for a season. I know that God has a just reward for you. I am thankful you are in a place with no war, death, hatred. There you have eternal love and peace and joy to look forward to and no harm will ever touch you again. Until we join you there, rest in peace, son.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Life is full of choices, this will always be.
The choice that you have made for me, will always inspire me.
How brave you are, oh I can see, that all you have done you have done for me.
America can you not see, how brave they are, they are for thee?
Can we not stop our busy day and count the cost that you must pay to keep us free.
Oh how they pay with their constant sacrifices they make each day.
How much they mean, how much we owe.
For ones so brave, for us so free, they gave their lives for you, for me

May you find comfort to know that others do care and share in your great loss.

As For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Pfc. Byron J. Fouty our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Byron. And to Byron it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made in combat while serving the U.S. Army and his country. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Byron, you are a brave Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,385 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Byron’s family and loved ones.

Our freedom is not free and your son's commitment and dedication to GOD & his country provides that blanket of freedom. I wish I knew the words to type that would comfort you, but as the tear roll down my eyes my heart aches. You raised one of the finest young men on this planet. Have peace knowing he is in heaven with GOD the Father.
