Harvey J. Taylor passed away on June 7, 2010 at the Odyssey House Hospice Care Facility in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on May 22, 1923 in Camp Verde, Texas to James Elijah Taylor and Fannie Dean Taylor. Harvey was a member of the Texas A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific and Aleutian Islands on the S.S. Beale. Harvey retired as a Welder and Engineer with several industrial equipment companies, including his own. More recently, he raised exotic deer. Harvey was an avid hunter, which he did frequently in his leisure time. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Charlotte Taylor Newton; sisters, Jessie Reed, Ruth Phillips & Carrie Taylor; and brother, Bill Taylor. Harvey is survived by his daughter, Sandra Tessitore (Robert); grandchildren, Terry, Diane & Brian Tessitore; great- granddaughter, Brittany Tessitore; nieces, Wanda Moravits (Shelby) and Marilyn.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North with Navy and Masonic Honors.
