Helen Irene Tschoepe Obituary
Helen Irene Tschoepe went home to God on Monday, February 14, 2011. She was born on April 23, 1927 in San Antonio to Irene and Martin Bauml. Upon graduation from St. Mary's Downtown High School, Helen attended Incarnate Word College. After several years, she began dating Leslie W. Tschoepe. They were married on November 15, 1947. Helen was a warm, gentle spirit who quietly served others, and whose greatest passions were her faith and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who always had time for family. Helen and Leslie were the parents of six children. Through continuous service to the church, sharing love with friends, and participation in her children's activities, she joined many organizations. These included the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, Ladies of the San Antonio Liederkrantz, St. Patrick's Holy Family Guild, San Antonio Garden Club, Holy Spirit Altar Society, Sultanas de Bejar Caravan #56 and numerous other organizations. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Irene Bauml; her son, Paul; her son-in-law, Bill Robertson; her sister, Marion Tarrillion, and her brother, Robert Bauml. She is survived by her husband, Les and her five loving children and their spouses, Kathy Robertson, Les Tschoepe Jr. and wife, Colleen, Alice Montgomery and husband, Ron, Phil Tschoepe and wife, Helen, and Dan Tschoepe and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Ronda Machen and husband, Rod, Wendy Schroeder and husband, Ryan, Victoria Tschoepe, Andrew, Brian and Sarah Tschoepe, Elizabeth Rose and husband, John, Mary Hogan and husband, Steven, David and Rebecca Tschoepe, Samantha, Corin and Diana Tschoepe; great-grandchildren, Frannie Machen and soon to be born "Baby" Schroeder; four brothers and sisters; sister-in-law; Lee Bauml (Robert's wife), Thelma Lincoln and husband, James, Joyce Gebhardt and husband, Frank, Martin (Sonny) Bauml and wife, Barbara, Tom Bauml and wife, Pauline; and sister-in-law Marian Tschoepe. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2011 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Oblate School of Theology, St. Mary's University, or the Congregation of Divine Providence.
