Marissa Garcia, our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend, left this world tragically and unexpectedly on July 14, 2011. Our hearts are utterly broken. This beautiful woman was taken from us. Marissa was born in Eagle Pass, Texas on July 12, 1962. She was a proud graduate of Our Lady of Refuge School and Eagle Pass High. She tried college for awhile but decided it was not for her. She wound up having a long and distinguished career in the transportation business. This career path took her to many places, Seattle being a special place for her. Eventually she returned to San Antonio to be close to us. The true business of Marissa was splendid exuberance. She possessed a shiny optimism that rubbed off on every person she met. Her heart was golden and it beat wildly. We hear it still each moment of each day. Marissa was the life of the party; the spark that lit the place up. She was vivacious, spontaneous, boisterous, outrageous, hilarious, generous. Her laughter was a force of nature as was her deep love for her family, tons of friends, and of course, The Dallas Cowboys. Her motto was "Live and let Live". She is survived by her parents Salvador and Amparo Garcia of Eagle Pass, her sister Sandra Garcia and partner Melissa Guthrie, brother Salvador (Chacho) Garcia III, beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, niece and many, many lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 18 from 9AM to 9PM at Yeager-Barrera Funeral Home, Eagle Pass, Texas. Funeral service 11AM Tuesday, July 19 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Eagle Pass.
