Zelma Bailey O'Neill Jr.
Bailey was born in Nixon,Tx. 10/26/1930 and passed away 8/13/2011 in Lubbock,TX. He was preceded in death by father, Zelma Bailey O'Neill Sr., and mother Laura Griffin Chatwin and one son Leslie Ray O'Neill. He is survived by one brother Billy Ray O'Neill and wife Lamoyne and one niece Rusann O'Neill all of Lubbock,TX. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
Bailey was a cowboy and worked on many ranches and drove cattle trucks for many years. He loved horses and the cowboy life. He also loved people and never met a stranger. Bailey was an Army medic in Korea and was wounded on two different days and he received two purple hearts and two Bronze stars with the " V " for valor. A memorial service will be held at Mansfield Park in Bandera,TX. at 10AM Sunday, August 28th 2011. Bailey requested people attending his service to dress western or casual. Bailey also requested no flowers and anyone wishing to make a donation in his name to a charity make it to The Cowboy Museum 1700 N E 63rd St. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73111 or to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children P.O. Box 199300 Dallas,TX. 75219 or a charity of choice.
