Dorothy Jean Shaw, born on January 27, 1933 in Hondo, Texas went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2012 at the age of 79. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerhardt Oscar and Winnie Mae (Rucker) Braden and granddaughter Heather Shaw. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Colonel (Ret.) Ronald Glenn Shaw, daughters, Karen Marie Hicks of San Antonio, Cynthia Anne Wantland and husband Mike of Helotes, and Linda Jean Shaw of San Antonio, and her sons, Michael Joseph Shaw and wife Diane of Bulverde, and Stephen Paul Shaw of San Antonio, Texas. Her grandchildren are Lindsay Marie Hicks, Braden Hicks, Robert Pittman, and William Shaw. Her great-grandchildren are Zachary and Tyler Shaw. She is also survived by her three sisters, Inell and (James) Rogers of Hondo, Barbara Jungman Kocurek of San Antonio, and Georgia and (Steven) Hartmann of Blanco, Texas; and one brother, Gordon Louis and (Nancy) Braden of Richardson, Texas. Dorothy is also survived by her sister-in-law Sharon Cyrus of Annapolis, Maryland, and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a Realtor with North Loop Inc. Realtors for 25 years and won many distinguished awards. She was President of the Alamo Area CRS Chapter. She also held offices in the Lone Star CRS Chapter and was on two national committees for RNMI of the National Association of Realtors. She had the honor of being the CRS of the Year for the Alamo Chapter and CRS of the Year for the State of Texas, Lone Star Chapter. Her career was always focused on her clients and customers and education in the Real Estate field. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Porter Loring Mortuary North Chapel.
