Miguel Rodriguez Jr. Obituary
Miguel Rodriguez Jr., was born in January of 1928 and now resides in the house of the Father Almighty. He was one of nine children born to the late Miguel and Guadalupe Rodriguez and was the beloved husband of Olivia Rodriguez for 49 years. He served 27 years in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1972; during his military career he fought countless missions in WWII, Korean War, and the Vietnam War in a RECON platoon as well as many classified missions to unknown locations. In 1958 he had Lee Harvey Oswald court-martialed for insulting and assaulting Technical Sergeant Miguel Rodriguez, a superior officer. After his military career, he later retired from the Post Office and received recognition for his 47 years of honorable service to the government. He served his country with loyalty and dedication, and was and continues to be an inspiration to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The family of Miguel Rodriguez would like to give special thanks to Specialty Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion and we are eternally grateful. Miguel is preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Anthony and 3 brothers. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Olivia V. Rodriguez; his children, Raymond Navarro (Karen), Yvonne DeLeon (Juan), Debra Matull (Edward), Joan Yanushka (Joe) and Michael Rodriguez (Kimberly); his grandchildren, Olivia, Angela, Patrick, Jessica, Erica, Michael, Michelle, Barbara, Amy, Jonathan, Andrea, Reina, Jessica, Justin, Monica and Michael, Jr.; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 4, 2012 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM at Sunset North Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 10:00AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3303 Urban Crest Drive . Burial will full military honors will follow at Ft.
