PRICE
Winnie Ruth Marsh Price passed away at Homewood Residence on Auguest 2, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born to W.C & Dell Sides Marsh on October 6, 1924 in Hunt County, TX., Ruth graduated from Terrell High School in 1942. After high school, Ruth moved to San Antonio to work, met and married her husband Leroy Price in 1944. Their sons R. Lee and Ricky, were born before she received her Bachelor's & Master's degrees from Trinity Unversity. Ruth taught for 30 yrs. in SAISD at Hillcrest & Foster Elem. schools. She was a 70 yr. member of Crestholme Presbyterian Church, the NEA, TSTA, SA Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma- Zeta Beta Chapter, and her 50 yr. long Bunco Club. Ruth loved teaching 1 st grade and after retiring would return to school to read to children. She also loved cooking, traveling, her church family, her many friends, was a proud Aggie mom and an avid supporter of TX A&M Univ. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Roy L.(Leroy)Price, and son Richard M.(Ricky) Price. She is survived by her son, R. Lee Price and wife Carol; 3 grandsons Chris, Greg, and Ricky all of St. Louis, MO.; nephew, Tom Mercer & wife, Dot, of Spring Branch, TX; their children, Paula Cunningham and Chris Mercer; numerous cousins & friends; and caregiver and "niece", Robin Bernhard. Vistation will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.
