Alfonso H. Cavalier, 91, entered his heavenly rest on November 15, 2012. Born in Albuquerque to Henry and Mary Cavalier April 30, 1921 and reared in Belen, New Mexico, he was a WW II Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient with the 2nd and 38th Infantry, retired from Kelly Air Force Base, a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus and member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Stella Brooks Cavalier, his children Al and Barbara Cavalier, Jr., Mary and Ron Elkins, Margie and Bob Donley, Barbara and Steve Hicks, Victor and Faye Cavalier. Also survived by his wife's children Elva and Roland Sanchez, Martha and Albert Tobar, Diana and Hector Cancel, sister-in-law Mary E. Brooks, 30 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and wife Carmen Estrada Cavalier. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 21, from 2-6 p.m. at the Angelus Chapel. Rosary and Funeral Mass will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Friday, November 23, at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please honor Alfonso with a donation to the Knights of Columbus Assembly #1102 (210) 232-7920 or the Wounded Warrior Program (855) 448-3997.
