The world has lost a hero and a friend as Howard (Harold) Jacobs passed away to his heavenly home on Friday, January 4, 2013. Born on December 14, 1940, Harold proudly served as an Airman and a Civil Servant for more than forty years with the U.S. Air Force, and was a decorated Vietnam Veteran. Thrice a Worshipful Master, Harold also served as a 33rd Degree Mason at the Kelly Lodge #1131 and Somerset Lodge # 1205 A.F. & A. M.. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his fellow brethren. Devoted husband to Carol Lee, and proud father to Robert Earl, Penny Lee, and Jodi Elaine of San Antonio TX and Edward Howard of Carthage TX. For Robert and Penny, he was the dad he didn't have to be and they will be forever grateful for his guidance and wisdom. Harold was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Syble, and father, Vernon Edward, and is additionally survived by his sister, Elaine of Tampa FL and Aunt Muriel of Marthaville LA; half-brother, Ray; ten spoiled grandchildren, and eight adored great-grandchildren. He will live on in the hearts of his loving family. A true people-person, Harold's witty personality and generous heart will be among his most-missed qualities. The family would like to invite everyone who knew and loved Harold to worship and celebrate his life with a viewing at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North from 5PM to 8PM on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 with the Funeral Service at 12PM on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 also at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will begin at 1:45 PM on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Full Military Honors and Masonic Rites. Honorary Pallbearers are family members: Robert Stout, Stephen Stout, Erik Duke, Wade Duke, Ben Duke and Brian Bruckshen. The family wishes to thank St. Luke's Baptist Hospital Intensive Care Unit and VITA's Hospice of Morningside Manor for their kind and compassionate care, and to remind everyone to live life to the fullest, as Harold undoubtedly did.
