James Swank Obituary
James Robert (Jim) Swank, 85, passed away on January 25, 2013. Jim and his beloved wife Jean recently moved back to San Antonio after spending 43 years in the Canyon Lake and New Braunfels area. Jim was born in Galesburg, Illinois on December 1, 1927 and was preceded in death by his dear wife. He is survived by his 4 children, Mike (Karen), Sharon Dukes (Tommy), Patrick (Frances), and Barbara Menn (John), along with 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and one sister. Jim served over 26 years in the military, enlisting in the Navy in August 1945. He switched to the Air Force in 1948, where he remained until his retirement in February 1971. Among his many awards and medals is the Bronze Star for meritorious service during the Viet Nam conflict. No public services are planned.
