MEHL
Shirley A. Mehl, 78, passed peacefully from life on January 31, 2013. She was born in Lockhaven, PA on August 25, 1934 to Malcolm and Ann Clevenstine. She was a longtime resident of San Antonio for 55 years, living most of that time in Hollywood Park. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Brent Mehl. Shirley is survived by her husband, Floyd Mehl; son, Kurt Mehl (Penny); brother and sister, Malcolm Clevenstine Jr. and Marlene Kremer. She also has 5 grandchildren, James, Courtney, Jennifer, Callie, and Jared Mehl. Shirley's inseparable bond with her husband Floyd began 59 years ago when they met as professional dance instructors at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Youngstown, Ohio. They carried this love for dance to San Antonio where they taught ballroom dancing privately and also began square and round dancing, becoming members of several clubs in the area. After devoting her time to raising 2 boys, she entered the workforce and a career in retail merchandising. She became a supervisor for Hynes Sales Southwest for the South Texas area until 1998. After retiring she continued part time in the same field for HDA Inc. until her passing. She was a loving individual and will be deeply missed by her family and those that knew her. Visitation with friends will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Porter Loring North Mortuary.
