Virginia Baker Obituary
Virginia Mann Baker, born July 13, 1932 in Laredo, TX, died peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of March 22, 2013 at the age of 80. A graduate of both Baylor University (B.A.) and The University of Southern California (M.A.), Virginia was a retired schoolteacher, long-time resident of San Antonio, and very active member of University Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader and dog lover who enjoyed travelling, playing classical guitar, and attending the symphony.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Elvella Mann, her brother, John Mann, and her son, Bill Ryan Baker. She is survived by her children Elvella Buckley, John Baker, and Nancy Baker Frescas, her son-in-law, Fernando Frescas, her grandchildren, Andrew Frescas, Elise Frescas, Ryan Buckley, Katherine Buckley, and Dr. Laura Samuelsen and her husband Micah Samulesen. She is also survived by her siblings Lawrence Mann and his wife, Cathy Mann, Elvella Paul and her husband, Jean Paul, and Nancy Chamberlain and her husband, John Chamberlain, and her sister in-law Linda Mann, as well as her dear friend Lucy Llera and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at University Presbyterian Church located at 300 Bushnell. The Rev. Kelly Allen will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Virginia's name to University Presbyterian Church or the SAMM Ministries.
