11 Year Veteran Volunteer of Bexar County Emergency Scene Rehab Passes away
San Antonio, Texas - May 6, 2013 - Bexar County Rehab mourns along with family and friends, the loss of our beloved Captain, Gloria Sanchez. Gloria was an eleven year veteran at Bexar County Emergency Scene Rehab, Supporting First Responders in the San Antonio area and training over 1500 volunteers through the Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) program. She was a pillar in her community, leading her community's C.O.P., providing for the welfare of south side children during the holidays, and making sure that students who could not afford school supplies always had the tools they needed to succeed. Her efforts to better her community could fill a book, and it is no wonder that in 2008 Captain Sanchez was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for her life-long dedication to her community.
Gloria was an inspiration to everyone she knew, and will be dearly missed. The Officers and Staff of Bexar County Emergency Scene Rehab Inc. would like to express our condolences to her family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this difficult time.
