John Wanzo "Breadman" Applin, age 78 went to his heavenly father on Monday, June 3, 2013. He was surrounded with love by family and friends as he passed on.
Born in Luling Texas, he went to Wheatley and lived his adult years in San Antonio Texas. He retired from Richters Buttercrust Bakery after 30 years and owned a shoeshine business at Satel's and Midnight Rodeo.
Survivors include wife Elizabeth Applin, his ex - wife Betty Lou Applin, children Paula Applin, Sandra (Clifton) Ross, Tonya Kerley. He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Watson.
Step Children Charles Thompson (deceased), Felicia (Dred) Madison, and James (Aronda) Young
Grand children, Clifton "CJ" Ross, Destin Watson, Jacquelyn Ross, Koiana Madison, Khambre' Young, and Austin Young.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. (6:30 p.m. Liturgy) on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Lewis Funeral Home, 811 South W.W. White Road, San Antonio, Texas 78220
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2013 at St Philips Episcopal Church, 1310 Pecan Valley, San Antonio, Texas 78210. Burial will be held at Meadow Lawn Cemetery, 5611 East Houston, San Antonio, Texas, 78220.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Philips Episcopal Church.
