WILSON
James Madison Wilson, age 96, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013 in San Antonio, TX. He was born on December 21, 1916 in Nixon, TX to parents, Eugene and Dixie Wilson. James was a member of the class of '33 at Old Brackenridge High School. He was a charter member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where he served in a number of lay capacities. James was associated with Alamo Title for over 30 years. He retired in 1982 but remained on the Board of Directors until 1998. His time at Alamo Title was very rewarding and satisfying. Their marriage ended with her death 30 years later in 1966. One year later, he married Rosellis Mistretta, his beloved wife who predeceased him in 1991. A period he often referred to as the happiest 25 years of his life. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Marine Corp., his primary duty as SGT-MAJOR, HQ, 4th Marine Air Craft Wing in the Pacific and Sgt.-Maj. Hq. Marine Fleet Air West Coast in the San Diego Miramar, CA area. James was the great-grandson of James C. Wilson, the Texas Patriot and Statesman for whom Wilson County was named. He was preceded in death by his only brother, Eugene Wilson, Jr.; sisters, JoBeth Venverloh, Dickie Sassmann, and Grace Haddock. James is survived by his loving nieces and nephews, Mary Chapel and husband Stephen, Beth Cohen and husband Bret, Deanne Mistretta Durfee and husband Dr. Michael Durfee, Eugene M. Wilson and wife Leah, Dr. Neil F. Haddock and wife Beverly, James E. Venverloh and wife Wendy, Robert M.
