CORTEZ
We mourn the passing of our beloved Robert Cortez, whom has succumb his long courageous battle with cancer on July 10, 2013 at the blessed age of 63. He was born on October 29, 1950 in Galveston, Texas to Robustiano and Elena Cortez. He graduated from Kennedy High School and later honorably served his Country during the Vietnam War. He went home to be with our Lord and reunite with his parents and son Richard Cortez. He is loved and will be greatly remembered by his wife of 25 years Anita Cortez; step-children Robert Padgett (Stephanie), Chris Padgett (Nancy), Justin Padgett, Stephanie Dee Ann Padgett (Roland), Christian R. Padgett; numerous grandchildren; siblings Richard Cortez (Tom), Rene Cortez (Eva); numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. The family would like to give thanks and appreciation to all the VA medical staff and the hospice facility. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
SERVICES
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Castillo Mission Funeral Home. Procession will depart the Funeral Home on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Mass at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
