Vernon Robinson Obituary
ROBINSON
First Sergeant Vernon B. Robinson (Rob), veteran of U.S. Army and devoted husband and father whose life blessed so many passed away on Sept. 4, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on Feb. 23, 1939 in Okemah,
Oklahoma. Rob is preceded in death by his wife, Julie
Robinson, sisters Mary Ellen, Nancy, and his brother, Joe
Robinson. He is survived by his son, Vernon Dean, his
daughter-in-law, Sira, his daughter, Rahnae Johnson, his son-in-law, Frederick Johnson, grandaughters, Nikita Purdy and Hannah Robinson, and former wife, Mary Robinson. Rob is also survived by his brother, Dal
Robinson, his wife, Carlotta, his cousin, Richard Robinson, his wife, Nancy along with several nieces and nephews. First Sergeant Robinson served for 23 years in the U.S. Army. During that time, he toured Korea, France, and Okinawa. He was a dedicated sports director, managed recreational facilities, and officiated sporting events. In his Army career, he coached the All Army Softball Team to victory. At the end of his life, the most important thing that Rob did was to dedicate his life to Jesus Christ.
The service will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11 :30 a.m. at Bethany United Methodist Church with a procession to follow to Fort Sam Houston National
Cemetery. Reception will follow at the church. The family
wishes that in lieu of flower donations that donations be
made to Mary Rahnae Johnson FBO Vernon B. Robinson Memorial Account at any Broadway Bank.
