LUCKETT
Valentine (Val) Livingston Luckett, 87, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his friends and family on Monday, October 28, 2013.
He was born to the late Valentine Livingston Luckett and Evelyn Tindall Luckett, on January 10, 1926 in Cameron, TX. He moved to San Antonio in 1942 and graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1943.
He served in the military in World War II for two years, and spent time in Germany towards the end of the war. After returning from the service, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a business degree.
Val spent many years in the automobile business, and worked as a salesman, service manager, business manager, and general manager. He retired as general manager from Park Pontiac in 1991.
Val loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. His was known for his kindness and generosity and was much loved by those who knew him.
Val is survived by his best friend of 34 years, Jesse Sturgeon of San Antonio. He is also survived by his siblings, Diane Luckett Dennis of Houston, Rosemary Luckett Kerr of San Antonio, and Charles Milton Luckett and his wife Patricia of Corpus Christi, plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
A celebration of Val's life for his family and friends will be arranged at a later date.
