Richard Sun Obituary

SUN
Handsome Richard Sun, age 82, went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2013. He was born on January 29, 1931 to Chow-Tuck Sun & Christine Ah Kam Cook in Kauai, HI. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly miss. He retired from the U.S. Army after 27 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Kiyoko "Kay" Sun; 4 children, Marlene Sun-Sternberg & husband Jeffrey, Charlene Byrd; Darlene Quon & husband Sandford, Layton Alan Sun & wife Antonette Berdadero-Sun; 8 grandchildren, Alexander Sternberg, Tiffaney Pomaikai & husband Moses, Saul Martin, Jonah Martin & wife Malia, Casey Tachera & wife Glenda, Owen Quon & partner Kevin Lukomski, Eva Malia & Matthew Pichay, and Layton Sun; brothers & sisters, Andrew Sun, Gladys Hashimoto, Jane Kinzie, Elsie Carrillo, Marilyn Rayno and Gilbert Sun; and numerous great-grandchildren. The Graveside Service will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 13, 2013 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfunerahomesa.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
