Albert Escobedo Baladez, age 89, of San Antonio passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014. He was a member of Texas 8 Perfect Union 10 Masonic Lodge, Alzafar Shrine and a member of the Oriental Band. Albert retired from Kelly Air Force Base in 1980 after 37 plus years. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and the Korean Conflict; while in the service he boxed in the Golden Glove. He was an avid softball player, he played and managed one of the first 5A fast pitch softball teams in San Antonio. Albert was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Ryan A. Baladez; brother, Jimmy Baladez and several nieces, nephews and extended family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Delfina C. Baladez; sons, Daniel J. Baldez, Sr. and Albert N. Baladez and wife, Gloria; grandson, Daniel J. Baladez, Jr.; granddaughter, Elizabeth X. Baladez; sister, Margaret Bucker and husband Louis; Minnie Flores and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he considered extended family.
