Richard is survived by his wife, Alicia, Daughters: Natalie and Elena Landeros, Parents: Marcos and Elvira Landeros, Rosemary Janavaras and Bernard Cruz, Brothers: Marcos III and Jonathon Landeros, Sisters: Athina and Cassiopia Janavaras, Nieces: Kathryne Morales and Athalia Ortega, Nephew: Marcos Landeros IV, Grandparents: Marcos Landeros Sr and Maria Otero, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Grandmother: Josephine Landeros and Best Friend: Jon Lofton.
Richard served as an Infantryman (11B) in the 187th Infantry Brigade, earning the Expert Infantry and Air Assault Badges. He is a veteran of the Iraq War, where he earned several medals, including two Army Commendation, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary, Global War on Terrorism Service, and National Defense. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the U.S. Army never left him, as friends and family will attest.
He was a fine son, a good man, a great father, and an excellent soldier.
Visitation will be at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Alamo Funeral Chapels. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th, 2014 at 12:15 p.m. at Alamo Funeral Chapels. Burial will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
