Marshall Glowka Obituary

November 22, 1974 - August 4, 2016
Marshall Scott Glowka, Texan and resident of Coral Springs, Florida passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the age of 41. Born November 22, 1974 in San Antonio Texas, he graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and from the University of Texas at Austin, with a degree in Communications. He was founder and CEO of USB Custom Flash Drives based out of Jupiter, Florida. Marshall was kind, loving, intuitive, caring, idealistic, opinionated and verbose. He loved unconditionally.

As a young boy Marshall spent countless hours riding skateboards and through high-school, played football, baseball, soccer. He was a passionate University of Texas Longhorn fan . He (crazy) loved Texas football; "Hook-em-Horns." He spent time reading all types of literature, watching movies and blogging. He enjoyed, scuba diving and kite-boarding.

Marshall's ideals and strong sense of morality motivated him to present himself, his life, and his ideas in the way that the world should be. He was a defender of "the little guy," passionate of rights and freedoms. He was first to risk himself to fight for what he saw as injustice that needed justice.

Marshall married in 2014 on New Year's Eve; an especially meaningful holiday to both of he and his wife Eileen. They met in middle school and then many years later were re-introduced and fell in love. Together, they enjoyed regular coffee and dinner dates, visiting with friends and rehabilitating injured animals.

He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen O'Brien; his beloved mother Joyce Glowka of Houston, Texas; his father, John G. Glowka of San Antonio, Texas; his maternal grandmother, Opal Green "MiMi" of San Antonio, Texas; his brother, John Glowka, his wife Marya, and his nephew Jonah and niece Leila of Jupiter, Florida.

He is preceeded in death by his maternal grandfather, Herbert J. Green, who he affectionately referred to as "Grump".

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Church By The Glades. Family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the Glowka family home in Coral Springs, Florida. Burial at sea, for immediate family, will be held at a later time.

Contributions in memory of Marshall Glowka may be made to the SPCA, Coral Springs Fire Department or The National Downs Syndrome Society.

Marshall, I only knew you through Facebook and on the Scrabble Board, but we were friends nonetheless. I enjoyed the many Scrabble games we played and the conversations that we had through the Chat Screen. You were a wonderful person to know, even if only in that capacity. I pray that you continue to rest in peace.

Your Friend,
