Lula Wolff Obituary
Lula May Wolff, a member of St. John Lutheran Church, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2002. She was born May 4, 1919 to Louis Henry and Clara Stroh Buehring. She is survived by brothers, Hilbert (Willie Mae) Buehring of Karnes City, Henry Buehring of Victoria, Leo (Leona) Buehring of Runge, Monroe (Alice) Buehring of Lynnwood, WA, Albert Buehring of San Antonio, Normie (Carol) Buehring of Tupelo, MS, Werner (Doris) Buehring of Giddings; sisters, Elnora Erler of Beeville and Mary Ann (Bill) Studemann of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband Horace M. Wolff; her parents, brothers, Louis, Jr. (Alice), Edgar, Eldor (Elnora), Elmore, Harold (Lorene), Hugo (Jean), Marvin and Allen Buehring and one sister, Lillie Buehring. Lula grew up in the New Bremen community near Karnes City, TX. She was a loyal Southwestern Bell Telephone Company employee for 38 years, earning many awards for excellence and attendance. She retired in 1983 as a Plant Assigner, after working as an operator, service assistant, local manual observer, directory assistant, toll operator and group chief in Beeville, Cuero and Corpus Christi. Lula was very active in her church and community. She was a talented artist with oils and needlework and loved to garden and landscape. She was a charter member of Cuero Pilot Club and Cuero Nurses Auxiliary. She was a Girl Scout leader and member of Camp Fire Girls Board of Directors. She was a member of Southwestern Bell Pioneers and served as the San Antonio Council secretary and treasurer. Lula was a kind, loving and generous person. She was always ready to provide assistance to anyone in need. She never met an animal she did not like, caring for all in need of a home. Services will be held Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 1:00 P.M. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1500 East FM 351, Beeville with Burial to follow in Beeville Memorial Park, the Reverend Jeff Thompson and Reverend Don Taylor officiating. Visitation will be Friday, November 1, 2002 from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Galloway & Sons Chapel. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Pallbearers are Harvey Buehring, Ralph Buehring, Robert Louis Buehring, Jerry Buehring, Velmon Buehring, David Buehring, Rocky Kopplin and Leroy Wolff. Honorary Pallbearers are all of her nieces and nephews.
