Kenneth Skipper Obituary

Kenneth H. Skipper, 82, of San Antonio, TX, passed away Friday, November 7, 2003. Mr. Skipper was a World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Army with the 337th QM Depot Company in Africa, Italy and France. A longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church, Mr. Skipper served our Lord by singing in the many church choirs, directing Sunday School classes, and serving as a lifetime Deacon. Mr. Skipper had a career in wholesale air-conditioning, retiring from Insco Distributing. An avid golfer, Mr. Skipper could often be found on local golf courses playing, marshaling, or serving as a hole captain for the Texas Open and PGA Seniors Golf Tournaments. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Alice Mae Skipper; brothers, C.A. Skipper, Jr. of Beaumont, TX and Charles Skipper of Huntington, TX; sisters, Ada Sue Sorenson of Houston, TX and Lou Ellen Barbee of Wallis, TX; children, Steve Skipper and wife Barbara of Bandera, TX, Richard Skipper of Lago Vista, TX, Sharon Wimberley of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Kami Wimberley, Meredith Skipper, Kevin Skipper; great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Cody Skipper; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M., Sunday, November 9, 2003 at Sunset Funeral Home at 1701 Austin Highway. Funeral Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M., Monday, November 10, 2003 with Rev. Dr. Buckner Fanning officiating. Graveside Service will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 12, 2003 with Rev. Dan McLendon officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution be made to the charity of your choice. To leave a message for the family, please log onto www.mem.com.
