ALICE MARIE KINIKIN

KINIKIN, ALICE MARIE Sunrise July 18, 1924 Sunset November 26, 2012 Alice Marie Kinikin was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 18, 1924, to Reuben and Gladys Nash. She was one of five children. She graduated from Muscatine High School in Muscatine, Iowa, in 1942. Alice was married and widowed twice. She was first married to William Delmar Sell and later to Jay Porter Kinikin. Both marriages were long and happy. Alice and Del had one son, David Allan Sell, who resides with his wife, Suzanne Ballard Sell, in Bellingham, Washington. Alice worked as a secretary for the San Diego Community College District 34 years. She took great pride in her work at the school. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, and of course being a mom. She was an active member of the Prayer Group at the College Avenue Baptist Church. Alice is survived by her son, David A. Sell and his wife, Suzanne Ballard Sell, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves many special nieces and nephews, and other family members, and many dear friends. Alice was preceded in death by her mother and father, Reuben and Gladys Nash, her two husbands, Delmar Sell and Jay Kinikin, both her brothers, Walter and John "Danny" Nash, and her two sisters Margaret Holt and Verda Braun. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on December 12, 2012, in the Fireside Room, at the College Avenue Baptist Church, located at 4747 College Avenue, San Diego. Chaplain James Budlove will be officiating. A private entombment was arranged by Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary. The famiiy of Alice Marie Kinikin wishes to thank the staff at Grossmont Gardens for their loving care.
