JONES, CHARLIE C. 1934 to 2012 Charlie C. Jones a longtime Rancho Bernardo resident passed away on December 17, 2012. He was born in Callahan, FL the son of the late Robert and Emma (Higganbotham) Jones. Charlie proudly served in the US Naval Submarine Service 1952 - 1972. He was a Korean and Vietnam War veteran. He met and married the love of his life, Sarah G. Kaufman while stationed in New London, CT. Together they have one daughter. Following his naval retirement he was employed by the City of San Diego, Public Utilities Water Treatment Dept. for 20 years, re- tiring in 2000. Charlie was a member of VFW Post 7766 and the RB Anglers. His favorite pastimes were fishing, whittling, gardening, grand- kids, dancing and rodeo! He was a devoted and loving husband, the world's best father and grandfather. He lived his life to the fullest. Famous for the sparkle in his eye and the smile on his face, he was kind and generous and fun. He was a friend to all, and was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sarah, his daughter Tammy Priest, three step-children Judith Ziemer, Mike Halloran, and Alexis Neville, his sister Bobby Allison of Connecticut, his brother Robert Jones of Florida, two grandchildren Emily and Olivia Cary, seven step-grandchildren Katherine Guillen, Andy, Ricky, Brian and Sarah Neville, Niki Furstman and Paul Ziemer Jr., nieces Sherry Hennigan, Cindy Jones, and Terrie Jones and nephew Billy Allison. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Peter Jones. Inurnment with Military Honors will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at twelve o'clock. Fr. Matthew Spahr will preside.
