Conor Stein(1984 - 2013)

Stein, Conor SAN DIEGO -- Conor Knothe Stein, 29, died suddenly on November 8, 2013, with his parents Joan and Joe Stein by his side. Born in San Diego on June 27, 1984, Conor was a young man born with multiple disabilities. Fortunately, he was able to attend the Infant Program at Alcott School, followed by classes at Schweitzer School and the Stein Education Center. At the time of his passing, he was happily participating in the Stein Adult Day Program in La Mesa and living comfortably in Prospect House, an HGH home. For a guy who did not speak, Conor was clear about the things he enjoyed in life. He loved going to the Zoo, for walks with his family around Miramar Lake, eating his favorite foods, and listening to music with his ear close to the speaker. His very favorite past time was relaxing in the sun on the patio swing. Our beloved Conor leaves behind his mom and dad, his brother David Stein and his sister Meg Stein along with his Grandma Eileen Knothe, his many uncles, aunts and cousins. He also will be missed by his fellow residents and staff at both Prospect House and the Stein Center Adult Day Program. A memorial gathering for Conor will be held at his Mom's house on the afternoon of November 16th. His family suggests memorial donations in Conor's name to HGH (Home of Guiding Hands, 1825 Gillespie Way, El Cajon, CA 92020) or to the San Diego Zoo. Both are online, and each brought joy to Conor.
