Francis C. Horvath

Horvath, Francis C. ESCONDIDO -- Born June 27, 1922 in Callicoon, New York, Francis Horvath, 90, passed away on February 14, 2013, at Somerford Assisted Living Facility, in Redlands, Calif. Frank graduated from Delaware Valley Central School in 1940. He was in the U.S. Army from 1942 - 1946. After his discharge, he attended the University of N.Y. and Yale. After a career in financial banking of 34 years in Manhattan, he retired from Chemical Bank of N.Y. in 1980. He moved to California in 1982, where he lived in Escondido for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Horvath; sister, Betty Lahm and brother-in-law and friend of 80 years, Ray Lahm. He is survived by his nieces, Carol Lahm, Patricia Lahm (Wolfgang Hopfs) and Rita Reed (Jim); also longtime family friend, Eileen DeRome. He remains in our hearts as a kind, loving and very generous man. He will be deeply missed. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m., on March 8, 2013 at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging area #3.
