SCHNIEPP, GLEN PAUL March 24, 1926 to Feb. 16, 2013 Glen died of complications of pneumonia at age 86. He lived most of his life in San Diego County graduating from Escondido Union High School. After his Army service, he graduated from pharmacy school at USC. He was a US Army veteran of World War II serving in Pt. Barrow, Alaska as a radio operator. He was a 50 year professional pharmacist and lifetime CPhA member. He owned and managed three of his own drug-stores, the last "Glen's Pharmacy' in Imperial Beach, Ca. Later he worked as director of out-patient services for UCSD hospital in Hillcrest until his retirement. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Anne in 1998. He is survived by his second wife, Joan Abbott of 10 1/2 years, three children Glen Jr., Mark, Diane Martin, step-daughter Katie Harris, and spouses, nine grand-children, four nieces, two nephews, and three cousins. Glen spent many hours in volunteer service. He was on the CPhA board of directors for seven years and local pharmacy association including president. He was voted pharmacist of the year for state and local three times. During his time with CPhA, he spent hours with the Sacramento local officials on bills that pertained to pharmacy and medicine. He was very active in his church of 47 years, Our Redeemer Lutheran on Euclid serving as elder, usher, president, treasurer, and teacher of Bible study. For many years he worked on the BioMed IRB evaluating clinical research studies. His interests and hobbies included travel, out-door camping, cooking, gardening, reading, friends and family. The last five years he has been a member of Christ the Cornerstone Lutheran church in Mira Mesa. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held there on Saturday, March 9 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lutheran Hour or the Salvation Army. Interment will occur on another date at Holy Cross.
