BECK, KIMBERLEE Kimberlee Ruth Beck, 43, of McDermott, Ohio passed away peacefully October 7, 2012 at Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born in San Diego, California on February 5, 1969, to John and Sharon Koustmer. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, David Beck, whom she married June 13, 1992 in San Diego; two daughters, Danielle Beck and Hannah Beck; one brother, John Koustmer and his wife Molly of Solana Beach, California; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Jana Beck of San Diego, California; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Christine Johnson of La Jolla, California; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lynn and Peter Kidder of Palo Alto, California; seven nieces and four nephews. Kim was a loving wife, mother, and a dedicated teacher with a compassionate heart for children with learning disabilities. She was employed by the Northwest school district in McDermott, Ohio; as an intervention specialist. One of her students shared, "Because of Mrs. Beck, I'm smart." In lieu of flowers, gifts in remembrance of Kim may be made to the Kim Beck Memorial Fund which will benefit children of the Northwest school district who need the kind of compassionate assistance that she gave to children with learning disabilities (Charter One Bank, 507 Chillicothe Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662). A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., at Torrey Pines Christian Church (8320 La Jolla Scenic Drive, North, La Jolla, California).
