SHEEHAN, LOYS Loys Sheehan passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in the San Diego area on December 23, 2012 after a four year battle against Parkinson's disease. Loys worked at United Airlines for 35 years in a variety of management and non management positions beginning in 1967 at Chicago's O'Hare Airport, Honolulu, Hawaii, Bangkok, Thailand and lastly as manager of an Inflight Services support domicile at San Diego's Lindberg Field. She retired when the San Diego office was closed soon after the 9/11 terrorist attack. One of the highlights of her career and probably her most proud career event, was in April of 1993 when she was awarded the Civilian Desert Shield and Desert Storm Medal by the The Department Of The Air Force for her participation in the transportation of military forces to the Mideast. Loys was married for more than 33 years to Jim Sheehan, also a United Airlines retiree (Vice President - System Operations Control). Services for Loys are scheduled to be held at The Church of Saint Luke, 1980 Hillsdale Road, El Cajon, CA 92019 on Friday, January 11, 2013, at 10:00. Mass reception to follow in the church hall. Condolences can be delivered to her husband, Jim at their home, 1323 Hidden Knoll Court, El Cajon, CA 92019. The family requests no flowers please but donations to Silverado Hospice San Diego, which assisted Jim in caring for Loys at home, would be gratefully accepted. Silverado's address is 3750 Convoy Street, Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92111.
