Phil Meek

Meek, Phil VALLEY CENTER -- Phil Meek was born in North Hollywood, Calif., on April 1, 1930 to Annas and Helen Meek He attended Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga, California and later joined and served in the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division. Phil retired in 1995 as a former partner in Tri-City Carpet Company. He was always active in Youth Sports & The Optimist Club Phil was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, offroading, and horse racing and anything that involved his treasured Family and Friends. He is survived by Arlene, his loving wife of 61 years; and son, Jim and wife Denise of Rio Rancho, NM; daugher, Janice and husband, Glen of Albuquerque, NM; with grandchildren, Leanne Carter, Philip Martony, Paul and Evan Meek, Jake Brown, Brooks and Karly Potts; great-grandchildren, Aydon, Lochlan, and Noah and more than 30 nieces, nephews. Phil passed away on January 17, 2013 at his home with his beloved family by his side. Legend has it Phil has been spotted wading a Stream, climbing a dune, and Betting On A Winner. Carpe Diem, Dad. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23rd, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Escondido.
