Ray Lee Hollis

Hollis, Ray Lee SPRING VALLEY -- Ray Lee Hollis, 93, passed away on May 20, 2013. Ray was born on December 5th, 1919 in Holtville, California to Rufus Hollis and Anna Juliusson. Ray had a zest for life loving traveling, dancing, fishing, and was an avid sports fan especially baseball. Ray was an active member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 1942, he enlisted in the Marine Corps, fighting in such campaigns as Iwo Jima. Ray received his Bachelors degree in Accounting from Los Angeles State. He worked 40 years as a Machinist in the Aerospace Industry. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Farris Kent Hollis; and his children: Nancy Benson (Dave) of Ramona; and his son, Craig (Michelle) of Mesa, Arizona; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held Friday, May 24th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at El Cajon Mortuary. A Graveside service will be held Saturday, May 25th at 10:00 am at Miramar Military Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 am at the LDS Church, 1270 S. Orange Ave., El Cajon, California.
