Ruth O. Todd Dube(1922 - 2013)

Dube, Ruth O. Todd 09/27/1922 ~ 11/07/2013 OCEANSIDE -- Ruth passed away peacefully at her home after 91 wonderful years. She will be missed greatly by her family and all that came to know her. Born in Salem, MA, she graduated from Lawrence High School, Class of 1940. She served as a Navy Corpsman 1943-1945 with US Marine Corps at Parris Island, SC. She was one of the Rosie the Riveters. She was married on December 8, 1946 to Charles A. Dube. After many moves around the country, they came to Garden Grove CA in 1955 and finally to Oceanside in 1962. She found time, after raising five kids, to be a teacher's aid for the Oceanside School district. She was twice President of the Oceanside Emblem Club #177 and was a member of the Escondido Emblem Club #161, Oceanside Women's Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved gardening, travel, puzzles and hummingbirds. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years; their five children, Cyndi, Charlene, Todd, Chuck and Craig; six grandchildren, Eric , Adam, Kirsten, Bailey, Taylor and Hailey; and five great-grandchildren, Autumn, Courtney, Noah, Jordan and Aubree; and extended family throughout the East and West Coast. She maintained her Massachusetts's roots by never losing her East Coast accent and her love for all sports. Her celebration of life will be held at the Oceanside Elks Lodge, Thursday, November 21, from 12 noon to 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Elks Lodge # 1561, Oceanside, in honor of Ruth Dube.
