MONTOYA, TIMOTHY JOSHUA Josh Montoya, 29, died on February 15, 2013 at his home in San Diego. A dedicated father, son and friend, Josh was known for his big heart and his zest for life. He was born on July 28, 1983 in Anchorage, Alaska to H. Tim Montoya and Stacie Irvine Mathewson. He graduated from Robert Service High School in Anchorage in 2001 and moved to California in 2004. Josh's daughter Brooke, his family and his friends were everything to him. He was protective, giving and laughed often with those he loved. Josh's family wrote, "When Josh entered the room there was no mistaking he was there. Whether he announced he had arrived or you felt his loving energy, his presence was always larger than life-bigger than any room could contain." Josh was an entrepreneur and continually worked to better himself physically and spiritually. He had a close relationship with God, enjoyed attending the Rock Church in San Diego and especially admired the church's Pastor Miles McPherson. His constant companion was Max his bulldog. Children were his soft spot. He was a lifelong Celtics fan and enjoyed his boat. His family plans to carry out his wish to restore his beloved 1970 Barracuda. Josh is survived by his precious daughter Brooke Lynn Montoya of San Diego; his mother Stacie Irvine Mathewson of Reno, NV; his father H. Tim Montoya, of San Diego and grandparents, aunts, cousins and friends too numerous to mention. An online memorial for Josh has been posted at: http://www. facebook.com/RememberJoshMontoyaAlways. A Service for Josh will be Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Del Mar Country Club at 6001 Clubhouse Drive in Rancho Santa Fe. It will be officiated by Pastor Miles McPherson. A Visitation preceding the Service will be held at El Camino Memorial Sorrento Valley at 5600 Carroll Canyon Road in San Diego Saturday, Feb. 23rd, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Rock Recovery Program at: http://www.sdrock.com/ministries/rockrecovery.
