Bridgman, Amy Roceilia 11/15/1928 ~ 09/22/2013 ESCONDIDO -- Amy Roceilia Bridgman passed away at the age of 84 in Hawkins Suite, Escondido, surrounded by her beloved family. Amy was a warm and giving woman who spent many years educating young people as well as working many years in the Escondido Public Library. The only child of Ethel and Sanford Lancaster she was born in Bold Springs, Tennessee. After graduating from UCLA, she continued her teaching education while bringing up five children. In 1981, at the age of 53, she received her Masters degree in Library Sciences. Amy gave much of her energy and love to her eight grandchildren, especially after losing her husband, Charles F. Bridgman in 1994. Another one of Amy's (Ceil to her family and friends) passions was gardening. She helped start the Childrens Gardens in Escondido. Her five children and their spouses, Sue and Jim, Paul and Carole, Dan and Dana, Kate and Charly, Ben and Pauline, lovingly remember Amy. Amy's grandchildren are Samuel, Tom, Daniel, Caroline, David, Caleb, Niki, and Shaina. The Memorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 341 S.
