Masi, Angelo Joseph 06/22/1918 ~ 02/04/2014 VISTA -- Angelo Masi passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Vista, CA where he resided with his daughter. Mr. Masi was a WWII Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient for wounds he received in Attu, Aleutian Islands. He worked for over 30 years with the Los Angeles Times as an independent dealer. After retirement, he and his wife moved to De Funiak Springs, Florida where they lived from 1977 - 2007, and during that time, operated "Maries Bait Shop" on Hwy 83N. Angelo was a loving family man who enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, cooking Italian dishes and spending time with his friends and family alike. Angelo was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie; brother, Paul Masi; sister, Rose Cogorno; sister-in-law, Camille Masi; and brother-in-law, Silvio Cogorno. He is survived by his daughter, Lynda King of Vista; grand- daughter, Kimberly McKaskle and her husband Robert McKaskle of Valley Center, CA; grandson, Scott King of Vista, CA, brother, George Masi of Redding, CA; nephews, John Cogorno of Huntington Beach, CA, and Paul G. Masi of Westlake Village, CA; and by his nieces, Georgiana Monighetti of Alamo, CA, Marlene Schuberg of Camarillo, CA, Kathi Wood of Romoland, CA and Marie Hyepock of Villa Park, CA.
