Duane M. Wolfe Obituary
Wolfe, Duane M. SAN DIEGO -- On September 6, 2013, after 87 well-lived years, Duane passed away with his family by his side. We will never get over missing him. He started his life on a farm in Michigan; proudly served his country as a paratrooper in World War II; then moved to Detroit in the 50s working at General Motors and his own commercial photography studio. In the 60s he settled his family in San Diego. After 20 years of working in Communications & Electrical for the City of San Diego, he retired and spent the next 25 years as a craftsman of wood; gem cutter and designer of jewelry; member of the Seniors Computer Group; and, for the past 6 years, a woodcarver. He spent a lifetime as a seeker of knowledge. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Norma; his brother John and sister Violet; his son, Greg; his daughters Cathy and Priscilla; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Duane was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra and her children Brandy and Tommy. He is interred at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Perhaps you sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a funeral spray, if so we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say; perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts. The Wolfe Family thanks you so much, whatever the part.
